It was breezey outside today. The trees rustled and crashed against each other every so often. People were walking past Shinji and no one noticed that he had been missing for years. No one cared more than likely, so he was free to be known as a traveler. It had been exactly three years since he had scratched that mark through his headband, three years.

"Hey, Shinji,how's it going man, wana go practice tonight, I've got the shurikens."

"Nah, I'm good, I've got something to do anyways, sorry."

"It's alright man, well, what're you planning about for tonight that's more important then practicing?"

Shinji thought for awhile as he stared away from his friend, Ryu. Everything seemed to pass through Shinji's mind, the only thing that racked his brain was how he was going to leave the village.

Shinji had been thinking about this for a long time. Nothing ever did seem to keep his mind closed like this had. Hopefully something would happen and he would forget about all of this.
